Rental Fees & Charges — Archive

Historic material only: This page preserves the fee information shown on the previous Homige website. It is not a current price list or contractual term and must be checked against current law and the documentation for the relevant tenancy.

Fee categories shown on the former website

Holding depositThe old site described this as the amount used to take a property off the market and stated a figure of one week's rent.
Set-upReferencing, identity checks and tenancy arrangement were shown as included.
Tenancy depositThe old site stated an amount equivalent to one month's rent and referred to the Tenancy Deposit Scheme.
Chargeable call-out servicesThe historic page showed £50 per hour for work outside the landlord's obligations or tenancy agreement.
Inventory checkoutThe summary table showed this as included, although explanatory text elsewhere on the old page also referred to an independent checkout fee. This inconsistency is preserved here for review rather than treated as current policy.
Interest on unpaid rentThe historic page referred to interest at 3% above base rate for overdue payments.

Application process described on the old site

The former page said a holding deposit was normally taken when an applicant asked to proceed with a room or property. It referred to referencing, preparation of tenancy documentation and guarantor referencing where required.

Inventory wording retained for review

The previous page distinguished between the landlord's cost of preparing/checking in an inventory and a checkout charge. It gave a one-bedroom unfurnished property as an example of the type of fee that could arise from an independent inventory company. Because the old summary table and explanatory wording do not fully agree, neither is represented as current Homige policy.

Historic non-refundable circumstances

The old site stated that fees could be non-refundable if an applicant withdrew before the tenancy commenced or if references proved unsatisfactory. That wording is retained solely as an archive record and must not be relied upon without checking the law and the specific application terms now in force.
